Diabetes Committee
Introducton - The establishment of the Diabetes Committee of the Madison Central Lions in April 2003 in conjunction with the new District D1 Diabetes Committee marks the renewal of Lions involvement in the fight against one of the worlds deadliest disease, Diabetes. Our goals are many and include
Increasing community awareness of Diabetes thru programs and distribution of informational materials
Establish or assist in Diabetes testing among the young and aging populations and provide referal to professional medical treatment for those with positive screenings
Provide recreational opportunities and other assistance for victims of Diabetes and their families
Work with existing medical and professional organizations thru volunteerism and fund raising assistance
Work with other Lion organizations at the District, State and International club levels to promote joint Diabetes projects
Committee Organization - The Diabetes Committee of Madison Central Lions (DCML) is comprised of a Chairperson and any club member that wish to participate in committee activities. As specific activities are identified that focus on one or more of the defined committee goals these activities will be assigned to one or more committee members for coordination and achievement.
